Amiable, philomath, music lover, and avid reader. These tags are just words on a page but packed in my 4’11” frame is a ball of energy encompassing these personality traits and more. I can cook, clean, break down your bills, balance the checkbook, interview rock stars; just don’t ask me to play Halo 3. I can’t shoot you but I have a mean Melee.

Born in Georgia and raised in Tennessee, I have cultivated numerous interests ranging from music, marketing and writing to Tim Burton and Hunter S. Thompson. I do not cheer on any football team, especially University of Tennessee, so please don’t ask me about it. My interests in the former and disinterest in the latter brought me to Middle Tennessee State University in 2002. While attending my varied classes I worked full-time, supported the local music scene and wrote for the school newspaper, Sidelines, where I interviewed school officials and the aforementioned rock stars.

I have since graduated college and continue to learn new skills for new projects, such as XHTML and PHP. As a wireless customer care rep, I parlay my journalistic interviewing skills with multi-tasking, a naturally helpful demeanor and knowledge of the ever-evolving wireless world into an eight-minute call. When I am not at work, I can be found reading, training for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure [10/4/08], watching movies [preference: horror] and/or indulging my musical tastes.

    Hey Kristen,
Great to see that you are blogging. I’ve been getting knee deep in PHP as well. Question: is the Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills/land hotel the same thing? I’m talking the place with a bunch of huge rooms that look like inside of a spaceship terrarium? If so, I spent a Sunday there recently and it quite educational. If you smash glasses, the wait staff just cleans it up!
Hope Nashville is treating you well,
    Alan
